From December 2019 to August 2021 I worked as a cross platform mobile developer for 60Hertz Energy. My primary responsibility was to create and launch their cross-platform mobile application using Flutter.
Flutter is a framework developed and maintained by Google with the Dart language. It allows quick iteration and development for Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux (although support for certain libraries is lacking across all the platforms.) The main benefit is a shared code-base across the target platforms. For most projects, Flutter works just fine, but if the application requires lots of animations and/or calculations there may be some performance issue. Luckily the Flutter team is addressing these issues. Their most recent release (version 2.8) saw a 20% performance gain just by upgrading.
Flutter is a great option if you are looking to launch your software on multiple platforms in a shorter amount of time.
